Reviews - I got into Battle Cats around October of 2016 and have logged in pretty much every day ever since. On the surface, there’s not much other than praise to preach about this game. What this game really revolves around are Cat Capsules, both the rare and common. Cat Capsules are a core part of the game and fit well (especially with the trade-in system) with the pace that you complete certain stages with. Cat Capsules will supply that extra push to help you beat a difficult level or a level with a certain enemy (like Black or Metal). These seem to come in at the perfect time. Mostly. The thing is, the game hits blocks. A common example of this is the Elephant from the Chapter 1 stages. Even with upgrades and the collection of cats, they all seem to get one-shotted before they even get in range to attack. The game then takes on a rather boring “collecting/grinding” phase where the player either needs to wait for tickets for cat upgrades or new cats, grind for XP to upgrade with, or even worse, pay up for cat food to speed things up. Unfortunately, this comes into play even more in the later game with enemies like Hannya and the Cyclones that demand certain cats or higher levels to be defeated and finally put aside. The choice of getting the game or not revolves around this factor. If you can get past this, the game and its variety will be sure to keep you entertained and wanting more. 5 stars
